Today the meeting hall of the Moscow Government is a model of integration of high-tech solutions into a historic room. Due to the old age of the building (more than 200 years), Avilex had to apply a special approach and introduce a host of engineering ideas, such as reinforcement of the floors, specially fabricated metal structures and, most importantly, a video wall successfully integrated into the historic interior.
The main screen in the room is based on sixteen Mitsubishi 62WEF 62-inch widescreen projection cubes arranged in a 4x4 pattern. This is the only solution that allows for displaying analytical information, videoconferencing images and GIS data with a high resolution. The total dimensions of the video wall are 5334х3334mm with the resolution of 7680х4800 pixels. Moreover, Mitsubishi 62WEF cubes have been chosen due to the fact that they use a LED light source and thus there is no need to replace bulbs and also that they may be installed without any access space behind the screen which is especially important at a centuries old property.
The Mayor's table is provided with a SMART Podium 24-inch interactive display which allows for viewing information from the main screen and adding annotations on top of images and videos. A similar display is mounted on a rostrum providing an opportunity for effective collaboration during meetings.
In addition to the interactive display, the Mayor's table is provided with a touch screen control panel allowing for easy and convenient control of the entire system, despite its overall complexity. Managing presentation time, switching microphones on and off, outputting images to the interactive display — all this can be managed using the interface specially designed by Avilex.
A Mitsubishi Quad HD display was installed in a separate control room to control visualization on the video wall and manage signals from different sources. Thanks to its unique features, including the 56-inch diagonal and resolution of 3840х2160 pixels, the display allows for the most effective real-time control of all aspects and supporting meeting participants if necessary. The display comprises several windows showing the multi-stream video broadcast on the screen installed in the hall and graphics from different sources that can be changed in size and location on the screen using a touch screen control panel. Thus, Avilex has created a solution that is both out-of-the-box and extremely easy and convenient to use. The operator display and the main screen are controlled by Jupiter Fusion Catalyst 4000 controllers installed in the operator room which also accommodates a high quality Polycom video conferencing terminal.
All AV switching and signal control features are implemented using fiber optics. Scalability is provided by a Kramer digital matrix switcher.
Further development of the project is aimed at providing interactivity with a graphic commenting option on each workstation in the conference hall. Such an upgrade will enable both on-site and remote users to interact in the most convenient and customary manner.
Another planned extension is to equip a small meeting room of the Mayor of Moscow with a video wall based on Mitsubishi 55” super narrow bezel displays. The basic concept is to integrate this room with the main conference hall to allow for information sharing and subsequently provide their collaborative operation.
