A press-center is a special information site for easy interaction for newsmakers and media representatives during press conferences. Main differences of press-centers from conference halls are caused by peculiarities of journalist work and the need to create the most comfortable conditions for making pictures and videos.
Round or U-shaped desks traditionally and successfully used in conference halls do not allow making pictures and video properly, which is important for all participants of the press-conference, and avoiding situations when somebody is turned sideways or back (!) to cameras, and journalists take seats on the perimeter of the room. Although even in such conditions a rational AV-solution can be found.
In press-centers it is better to place newsmakers at the straight desk opposite the ‘stalls’ for the media which will influence the selection and placement of screens displaying information. Priority is given to the main screen installed behind the backs of the participants to display supporting information for the speakers and general image serving as a press-wall.
The selected display technology should fulfill two important tasks. First, to provide good readability of images in high-light conditions with regard to flash-lights and the light of filming equipment; second, the clarity of the video that cannot be achieved by many technical facilities.
The next element is additional and duplicate screens helping the participants of the event to “hold” presentation materials before their eyes, with the main screen behind, and the journalists at the back rows to see the speakers and not to miss anything important for the future news, reports and publications.
Duplicate screens can be placed in the hallway and in a separate room of the press-center. This is convenient in cases when the press-conference is highly interesting for the mass-media but there are not enough places for participants in the main hall. The duplicate screens broadcast images from the video-conference cameras, thus everyone can see and hear what is going on.
Sound and conference communication:
Professional wall acoustic systems with a high degree of speech intelligibility are installed in press centers.
Video-conferencing:
The possibility to hold press-conferences with remote participants, as well as broadcast events in the hall to other devices with the help of cameras.
Integrated control systems:
The user’s system interface is a compact sensor panel with a screen. The specially designed graphic interface enables the user without the profound technical knowledge to successfully manage all equipment of the complex.
