Two-In-One: Efficient Solution for T&NAD Prefecture

The new T&NAD Conference Hall can be turned into a fully-featured situation center by making some minor changes in the layout of the presidium workstations and two backup displays. Transformation feature is a non-standard and efficient solution that on the one hand considerably improves the technical level and extends the event range and on the other hand saves area by using one multifunctional hall instead of two conventional rooms.

The main data display either for the conference hall or the situation center is represented by 4861х1372mm video wall comprising eight ultra slim 55” Mitsubishi VS-L55HM70U Full HD LCD displays arranged in 2x4 configuration. The distance between images in the video wall is only 5.7mm.

The challenges associated with project implementation included completed interior finish of the rooms. Nevertheless, the Company managed to find an appropriate solution based on its proven experience in similar projects including historic buildings. The company specialists made a niche in a plasterboard false wall some centimeters apart from the main concrete wall, and installed a video screen that seamlessly integrated in the interior.

Along with the video wall, there are two backup Mitsubishi MDT551S Full HD LCD displays on pivot mounts in the hall. Well designed display layout and rotation is the key to hall multi functionality. In the meeting mode, the presidium faces the audience and the back up displays are used to display information for the presidium members while the main screen is used for the other participants. In the situation center mode, the presidium faces the video wall while the back up displays rotate to face the audience. Such variability ensures comfortable processing of large information amounts and videoconferencing functionality for all participants of any event held in the Conference Hall of T&NAD Prefecture of Moscow.

The VC system based on Polycom equipment comprises two cameras. One camera is installed under the video wall while the other is under one of the backup displays. So the VC system provides for effective and comfortable interaction with remote subscribers irrespective of the hall operation mode – conference hall or situation center. VC operation is controlled by a dedicated control system interface at the assistant’s workstation.

Bosch-based discussion subsystem is installed in the hall. Event hosts have 2 Shure radio microphones and 15 wireless consoles providing flexible and prompt changing of the number and places of participants.

The speaker’s stand equipped with a discussion subsystem pad and an interactive SMART Podium display has been installed in the left part of the hall. This solution helps the speaker to view report papers and add graphic comments to the presentation.

Sound is delivered by an overhead JBL Control series loudspeaker system comprising eight loudspeakers, Crown CTS 600 amplifier and Biamp Nexia CS programmable audio mixer. The system is also completed with Marantz digital audio recorder with logging functionality.

To help the participants and to provide for effective event management, the Conference Hall features the assistant’s workstation equipped with AMX 10” control touchpad, two 22” displays to monitor the information displayed on the hall screens, interface for notebook connection and a document-camera to display hard copies.

Using the dedicated Avilex interface, the assistant can change the video wall layout, control the cameras, VC calls and the loudspeaker system and select image sources to be displayed.
