Upgrading of the Conference Room at Moscow Department for Economic Policy and Development

The equipment of the conference room was upgraded in order to provide a comfortable environment for workshops, conferences and working meetings at the Moscow Department for Economic Policy and Development by implementing modern technologies and solutions for collaboration.

As a result of the upgrading project, the room was provided with multi-purpose equipment, including a modern, highly reliable display system, high quality of sound, and flexible switching. Currently, the conference room can accommodate up to seventy attendees, including a chairperson and 32 participants at the main conference table and invitees on chairs along the walls to the full length of the room.

A video wall comprised of nine 55-inch Mitsubishi ultra narrow bezel LCD panels serves as a large screen display. The overall resolution of the video wall is 5,760 х 3,240 pixels.

The video wall can display various and highly detailed content, including charts, reports, tables, geographical maps and many other content types.

In order to duplicate information from the video wall for participants of meetings and save the working space in the room, the following solution was used: tilted LG LCD displays with 42-inch screens were installed within the internal perimeter of the table in such a way so as not to obstruct the view of those sitting on the opposite side of the table. Thanks to this, it was possible not only to provide good legibility of the content displayed to participants but also not to use duplicate displays on the walls of the room, which are not always appropriate in classic style interiors.

Each attendee workstation at the table is equipped with a Beyerdynamic microphone console with a remote control function. A distinctive feature of this console is that it uses a technology ensuring excellent speech intelligibility both when the speaker is seating and standing.   A Mediamatrix digital audio processor is used to process and mix audio signals.

In addition, the table has connection ports for external multimedia equipment that enable displaying information from their laptops and other devices on the video wall.

The chairperson workplace is provided with a separate interactive display for duplicating information with the possibility to make graphic comments during presentations.

An AMX touch screen of the equipment control system with a specially designed control interface is installed on a side cabinet. The chairperson can use this panel to select sources of content to be displayed on the screen, control microphones, sound and make calls via the video conference system of the Moscow Government.

The core of the audiovisual system is an AMX Enova DGX scalable matrix switcher which provides flexible switching between sources and display devices.

Video broadcasting is maintained by four remotely controlled Panasonic video cameras installed along the perimeter of the room.  The cameras are controlled by a special console installed in the control room.

All signals from the video cameras are transmitted to the control room of the Moscow TV production facility to organize professional TV broadcasts and shooting.

Unique compact Meyer Sound MM-4 directional speakers are used to provide sound in the room. Despite being small, these loudspeakers reproduce both voice and multimedia content with excellent quality and are specifically designed for rooms with high reverberation levels. Featuring a white body, the loudspeakers were chosen to fit the design of the conference room and installed in an illuminated niche, making the sound system almost invisible.

At the same time, the location and power of the loudspeakers are designed to provide sound of top quality.

The upgrading of the conference room created a flexible environment to cater for the needs of various working activities of the Moscow Department for Economic Policy and Development in line with all modern trends in equipping venues of this kind.
